ServiceTitan

The big dog of field service software, built for operations with 20+ techs and dedicated office staff. Launched in AU in July 2024. If you're under 20 people, the cost and complexity aren't worth it.

ServiceScale Verdict

Deep feature set for large field service operations, but the AU launch is still maturing and the price point puts it out of reach for most small trade businesses. One for the 50+ staff companies.

Overview

ServiceTitan is the dominant enterprise field service platform in North America, used by thousands of large residential and commercial trade businesses. The platform launched in Australia in July 2024, bringing its full suite, dispatching, pricebook management, marketing analytics, and a mobile technician app, to the AU market with native Xero integration.

This is not a tool for small teams. ServiceTitan is built for businesses running 20+ technicians with dedicated office staff handling dispatch, a marketing budget worth tracking ROI on, and complex pricebook structures. The platform covers the entire customer lifecycle: marketing attribution, call booking, dispatch, on-site sales presentations, invoicing, follow-up, and membership programs.

Strengths: The depth is unmatched. Real-time dispatch boards with GPS tracking. Pricebook management with good-better-best presentation options for technicians. Marketing ROI tracking that ties ad spend to actual booked revenue. Membership and service agreement management built in. The reporting engine is enterprise-grade.

Limitations: The price tag matches the capability, expect $200–500+ per user per month, with implementation and training on top. The platform is complex and takes months to implement properly. Onboarding requires dedicated project management. The AU launch is still early: the local ecosystem (third-party integrations, AU-specific pricebooks, local support depth) is maturing.

If you're running a large operation and feel you've outgrown Simpro or AroFlo, ServiceTitan is the next step up. If you're under 20 staff, the cost and complexity aren't justified.

Pros & Cons

What we like

  • Unmatched depth of features, dispatch, pricebooks, marketing ROI, memberships all built in
  • Enterprise reporting and analytics are a genuine step above mid-market tools
  • Xero integration available for AU market since July 2024 launch
  • Marketing attribution connects ad spend to actual booked revenue
  • Technician mobile app includes on-site sales presentation tools

Watch out for

  • Expensive, $200–500+ per user/month plus implementation fees
  • Takes months to implement properly, not a weekend setup
  • Overkill for businesses under 20 staff
  • AU ecosystem is still young, fewer local integrations and support depth compared to US
  • Steep learning curve for office staff and technicians alike

Best for

Large commercial plumbing, HVAC, and electrical businesses with 20+ technicians, dedicated office staff, and marketing budgets. Businesses that have outgrown Simpro or AroFlo.

Not ideal for

Small teams, sole traders, or businesses under 20 staff. The cost and complexity aren't justified at that scale, Simpro, AroFlo, or Fergus are better fits.
