“Solid for digitising SWMS and safety checklists, especially if you're still on paper. The interface is functional rather than pretty, and the mobile app can be sluggish on older phones.”

Overview
Formitize is an Australian-built digital forms platform headquartered in Brisbane, designed to take trade and field service businesses paperless. If your team is still filling out SWMS on clipboards, printing job reports, or losing safety checklists in the back of the ute, Formitize solves that problem directly.
The platform provides a drag-and-drop form builder, a library of pre-built templates (including Australian SWMS, JSAs, inspection forms, and compliance checklists), and a mobile app that lets field staff complete forms on-site — with photos, signatures, GPS stamps, and offline support. Completed forms are instantly available in the cloud as branded PDFs.
Strengths: The pre-built Australian compliance template library is genuinely useful — SWMS, site inductions, vehicle inspections, and defect reports are ready to go. The form builder is flexible enough to create custom forms for almost any workflow. Offline capability means forms work on remote sites with no reception. Photo capture with annotations is a real time-saver for documenting defects or job progress.
Limitations: Formitize is a forms tool, not a job management platform. You'll still need Tradify, ServiceM8, or similar for scheduling, quoting, and invoicing. The interface feels dated compared to newer apps — functional but not pretty. Pricing can add up with larger teams, and some users report the learning curve for building complex custom forms is steeper than expected.
If your biggest pain point is paperwork compliance and getting forms off clipboards, Formitize is one of the most capable AU-built options available.
